    I, alongside other postgrads, was/were considering applying for funds through Birmingham (which are available) in order to organise “something” to do with precisely this (i.e. some sort of one-day conference on the impact of linguistic research). You’ve written about it before and it’s the sort of thing you’re not really “taught” about (and I’d imagine it would be useful for research postgrads considering that their research could certainly find it’s way into the public sphere). The deadline’s getting tight for this though, but I’ll let you know if anything comes of it.

    Yes, please do, it sounds like an interesting project. How it’s (not) taught isn’t something I’ve thought about, but it’s definitely something worth pursuing.
